@ Airatheshwara Temple, Darasuram, Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu
Many splendid sculptures have been placed around the outer wall of the Airatheshwara temple but this is the only one that is being actively worshiped. While the inner sanctum is that of Ishwara, this Vishnu vigraha had been selected for special veneration. The bright red of the sari makes for a striking contrast with the black vigraha.
